Be Back Next Week (Or, It’s a Conspiracy, Redux)

Wednesday September 8, 2004

There’s something funny about this situation, somewhere. I’m not sure where, exactly, but I’m sure it exists, and and am trying to laugh because I know I should.

To make a long story short, I’d hoped to post the first of my reflections on 9/11 tonight, and then have the following three parts automatically appear—one a day, through Movable Type’s new future posting feature—through Saturday while I was away. But even if I hadn’t been stopped cold halfway through by a major dose of writer’s block, my little scheme wouldn’t have worked anyway; I can’t get future posting to work after hours and hours of troubleshooting.

Sigh. Even if the writing were getting somewhere, I’d still be peeved; the only things worse than misbehaving technology are (a) stupid people, (b) willfully ignorant people, and© really stupid people. If I didn’t need to finish packing, I’d be tempted to keeping going at this little puzzle until I solved it and bent into my will.

Since I refuse to take my laptop with me (I’m going on holiday, damnit!), I guess this’ll need to wait until I get back on the night of the 16th. Regular posting will, really, truly, cross-my-heart resume the weekend after I return. Thanks for stopping by!
