At First I Was Lost…
I’m rather amused right now.
While I was out getting breakfast just a few minutes ago, a woman stopped me to ask directions. She could have asked any of the other dozen people on the street, but no—she chose me. Apparently, I looked like I knew where I was going.
Now, considering I missed my only class on Wednesday because I got myself hopelessly lost on campus, I probably wasn’t the best choice she made. But, of course, she didn’t know that. So she asked her question anyway.
And to my amazement, I knew the answer—and knew how to explain it clearly, too! It sounds pretty dumb when I describe it that way, but to be honest, I don’t really care. It just makes me happy to know that I’ve actually figured how parts of Melbourne are laid out. Sure, it was just one location, but it’s reassuring that I’m slowly sorting out where things are—even if it’s one street, one landmark, at a time.
Who knows? With some luck, I may actually make it to both my History lectures without mishap next week. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some pastry I want to enjoy….
